Here are the basics you need to know when you're signing up your team as a captain for the first time:

  • Do I have to pay the full amount when I sign up?

    No.

When signing up, you'll be asked to put down a deposit for your team that will count towards the total team balance.

When building out your roster, you'll have the opportunity to ask your teammates to make payments towards the team balance for you when you invite them to your team.

We won't run your card for the remaining balance until seven days before the first league date, so you'll have plenty of time to collect from your teammates.

  • I don't have my team name figured out. Do I need that to sign up?

    No.

You need team name, but you don't need the team name that you'll end up with when the season starts. Just drop in a placeholder of some sort and let us know what you want it to be later, we can switch it out for you.

  • My team can only play on certain days or times, how do we make sure we don't play at a time we can't?

You will have the chance after you finish signing up to put in a request for times and dates that you can't play. If approved, we will add a schedule request fee to your team fee. While we can't guarantee that we will be able to accommodate all of your requests, we've gotten pretty good at it and approve around 85% of schedule requests.

  • Do I need to have my full roster figured out when I sign up?

    No.

You'll need it figured out a few days before the league starts, but not immediately upon sign-up. Go ahead and sign up and invite the people you know are playing through your roster builder, then you can always go back in later and invite more people.

Note that some (not all) leagues may have a pool of free agents available that you can invite to play with you in case you want an extra player or two on the season. You can invite these players through your team management panel if they are available.

  • Do you schedule practice time for us?

    No.

We only schedule games. Most teams don't practice, but if that's something that you'd like to do, you can always contact your local parks and rec department about scheduling some time.
